About NADA

The National Automobile Dealers' Association (NADA) is a professional body representing the interests of business persons who own, operate and manage new passenger and commercial vehicle franchise motor dealerships and qualifying used vehicle only outlets in South Africa.

NADA is committed toward enhancing the image of the retail motor business; facilitating the interface between dealers and the motor manufacturers and importers who supply them; building rewarding relationships between dealers and their customers; and bringing relevant issues facing its members to the attention of government at all levels.

In all forums, NADA is the fully representative and respected voice of the retail motor industry in South Africa.

NADA is one of 13 Constituent Associations of the Retail Motor Industry Organisation (RMI) and has affiliations with a number of similar organisations worldwide.

The RMI is the largest employers’ and business representative organisation in the South African retail motor industry.

With dealer members representing the various motor vehicle brands countrywide, NADA operates through a structure of member-elected regional and national committees.

The NADA National Executive Committee and NADA Motor Retailers’ Forum develops strategies, policies and activities which address the no competitive issues impacting dealers’ business operations.

Participation by members in these activities is welcomed and is limited only by the level of input and the amount of executive time those concerned are prepared to give.

The website is a resource base for information including data around vehicles sales, our Dealer Satisfaction Survey, guidance documents etc. If you are not already a member and would like to know more about membership, please refer to our membership page for more information and contact details.

WHERE NADA FITS

NADA is one of the 13 Constituent Associations of the RMI and has affiliations with a number of similar organisations worldwide. With dealer members countrywide, it operates through a structure of member-elected regional committees to a National Executive Committee which develops and implements policies and activities. Participation by members in these activities is welcomed and is limited only by the level of input and the amount of executive time those concerned are prepared to give.

NADA'S ACTIVITIES

At both regional and national levels, NADA arranges regular opportunities for members to meet and network on current issues.

Every two years, it stages a major international convention which features both overseas and local speakers covering global issues of real significance to day-to-day business in South Africa.

NADA also arranges top-level study tours to other countries to monitor the latest trends and developments in motor retailing. In this way NADA members have been able to anticipate developments such as customer satisfaction index (CSI) measurements, multi-franchising and some major developments in vehicle marketing, and introduce South African strategies to handle them here.

Groups of South African NADA members regularly attend the annual United States NADA Convention (famed for its size and spectacle) and top executive members of NADA also form part of RMI's participation in the annual conference of the IOMTR (International Organisation of Motor Traders and Repairers).

Locally, NADA from time to time, stages its own "road shows" where a touring party visits members throughout the country and presents developments within the sector to them.
